The loop begins next to the Prairie Creek Visitor Center and combines the Karl Knapp Trail, the Foothills Trail, and a short section of the Cathedral Trees Trail. It can be done in either direction. Know Before You Go

Parking for RVs and trailers is available along the Elk Meadow section of Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway, though close-in parking can be hard to find in summer. Roosevelt elk frequent the area and can block the trail; do not approach them.
