Overview

The day-use area sits right off Highway 101 in the northern third of the parks. A pond by the parking area draws herons, and interpretive signs explain how the site was used during 19th and 20th century logging. Facilities include picnic tables, restrooms, parking for cars and larger vehicles, and wheelchair access. There are no redwood groves here.

Trails

The Yurok Loop Trail starts on the ocean side of the parking area and reaches coastal views in about ten minutes, passing sea stacks where seabirds, including common murres, gather. A trailhead also connects to the California Coastal Trail, with a four-mile route south to the Klamath River Overlook.
