
Klamath River Overlook sits on the bluffs northwest of Klamath, looking over the mouth of the Klamath River and the Pacific Ocean. It is a year-round spot for watching birds and marine life.

Overview
The overlook looks out over the mouth of the Klamath River and the Pacific. Road access is not suitable for larger RVs or trailers. Facilities include picnic tables, benches, parking, a vault toilet, interpretive signs, and an information kiosk. Sunsets here can be clear when fog does not move in.
What to See
Migrating gray whales may pass in spring or fall. Seals often rest, and can be heard, on the sandspit at the river mouth, and a variety of birds use the area year-round.
Trails
The Klamath Section of the California Coastal Trail begins here and heads north. After a half mile, the steep route leads to a lower ocean overlook.
