Overview
Elam is reached by a 7.5-mile one-way route from the Orick Horse Trailhead. The three sites have picnic tables, bear-proof lockers, fire pits, a toilet, and a corral. The camp allows horses, with a maximum of 12 stock animals. Creek water is non-potable and must be treated before use.
Know Before You Go
A free backcountry permit is required and is available only online. Footbridges on the Redwood Creek route are removed seasonally, which affects access and creek crossings. Check current conditions before your trip.
