The Camp

The campground occupies a forested spot on Jackson Meadow Reservoir's northeastern shore, tucked into dense pine and fir. Each site comes with the standard picnic table and fire ring setup, and the campground provides both flush and vault toilets plus drinking water. The boat ramp puts you directly on the water, while views stretch across the reservoir to the Sierra Crest and English Mountain.

On the Water

Jackson Meadow Reservoir handles the full range of water activities β€” boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for rainbow and brown trout. The designated swim beach nearby gives families an easy spot to get in the water without wrestling a boat launch. Canoeing works well here, and the reservoir's rolling forested valley setting keeps things scenic without the alpine drama that draws crowds elsewhere in the Sierra.

Beyond Camp

A section of the Pacific Crest Trail runs along the reservoir's east side, offering hikers a taste of the long-distance route without committing to a multi-day trek. The surrounding area draws hunters and mountain bikers, and the nearby Grouse Ridge Non-Motorized area and Bowman corridor lakes expand the hiking and camping options.
