The Camp

The campground spreads through forest at 800 feet elevation, where hardwoods mix with conifers along Dillon Creek and the Klamath River. All 21 sites come with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Paved roads run throughout, making it accessible for larger rigs, and vault toilets handle the facilities. A campground host may be on-site during the season.

Call 530-627-3291 to check on drinking water availability before arriving β€” it's not guaranteed year-round.

What to Know

The season runs mid-May through mid-October, with reservations required. Fall and early winter bring the best salmon and steelhead fishing on the Klamath β€” considered some of California's finest. That's when you'll want to book well ahead, especially for September and October dates when the salmon runs peak.

The Klamath and Salmon Rivers handle the water recreation: fishing, swimming, and whitewater rafting. Hunters come for blacktail deer, black bear, grouse, and quail in season.

Nearby

The Klamath River flows right alongside camp, putting you immediately on prime salmon water. The Salmon River confluence isn't far upstream, opening up more fishing and rafting options. Both rivers offer swimming holes when the weather heats up in summer.
