The Wedge Overlook sits on the rim of the San Rafael River canyon in the San Rafael Swell, central Utah, on BLM land managed by the Price Field Office. The canyon below, often called the Little Grand Canyon of the San Rafael, runs about 1,000 feet deep. A rim road and trail connect two viewpoint parking areas.

The view
The overlook looks down into the gorge the San Rafael River cut through the San Rafael Swell, a broad dome of uplifted sandstone in central Utah. The canyon runs roughly 1,000 feet deep, with the river winding along the floor between sandstone walls. Two parking areas sit along the rim, linked by a road and a rim trail, so you can reach viewpoints on foot or by vehicle.
What to do
Beyond the views, the area draws hikers, mountain bikers, and photographers. Mountain biking trails run past the second parking area through the surrounding terrain. Designated campsites sit back from the canyon rim.
Getting there
From Price, take UT-10 south and UT-155 toward Cleveland, then follow Cedar Mountain Road, Buckhorn Wash Road, and Wedge Road to the overlook, about 45 miles total. The route mixes paved and dirt roads, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended for the final dirt stretch. The site is remote with no services, so carry water and check road conditions, which worsen when wet. Follow Leave No Trace practices.
