History
The Art Deco station was built in 1929 on the G Ranch to support growing point-to-point radio traffic across the Pacific. It provided ship-to-shore communications for most of the 20th century. The Monterey cypress that form the nearby tree tunnel were planted around 1930 along the station's access road.
Visiting
Most Saturdays through the year, members of the Maritime Radio Historical Society welcome visitors and give guided tours, generally from noon to 4 pm. Visitors can watch Morse code being sent and received and send a radiogram. Space and staff time are limited, so individuals and groups who want to be sure of admission should reserve ahead by email.
