Overview
Sculptured Beach is roughly two miles south of Limantour Beach, near Coast Camp. Wave-carved rock formations are exposed at low tide along with the organisms that cling to them, making it one of the best tidepooling areas at Point Reyes. Reach it by parking at the end of Limantour Road and walking south along the beach.
Tidepooling
The best tidepooling comes during a minus low tide. Arrive at least an hour before low tide so the water is still receding, and return no later than an hour after the tide begins to rise. The south end of the beach should only be explored on a low or outgoing tide; visitors have been trapped there by incoming high tides.
Know Before You Go
Winter creek crossings on the walk in can be wet. Watch the tide closely around the rocky promontories at the south end.
