Overview
The ranch lies along Mulholland Highway in Agoura Hills, reached from U.S. 101 by way of Kanan Road. The grounds hold oak woodlands and a seasonal creek, with short, easy trails and a lawn.
History
The property operated as the Lake Enchanto resort from 1939 to 1965. A terrazzo tile concert area dating to 1939 hosted performers including Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson in the 1950s, and the remains of a large outdoor swimming pool with a small central stage still stand. The site later took the name of actor Peter Strauss.
Know Before You Go
The National Park Service runs the site and hosts public programs, including Sunday concerts in summer. The ranch can be reserved for private events such as weddings.
