Overview

The overlook gives a view of the north end of a steep, narrow valley and the seasonal creeks that drain into it. Hydrothermal activity along the edges of East Sulphur Creek below warms the ground, so grass and wildflowers can appear green here while the surrounding area is still under snow. Black bears are sometimes seen grazing on the early grass. There is no trail into the valley, and a second, smaller pullout sits about a mile south for a different angle.
