Overview
The pullout is the highest point on the park highway and serves as both a photo stop and the trailhead for the Lassen Peak Trail. Lassen Peak, at 10,457 feet, is one of the world's largest plug dome volcanoes, and its 1914 to 1917 eruptions were a driving force behind the park's establishment. Snow can linger here into summer depending on the winter.
