Inside the cave
Labyrinth runs about 1,239 feet, with Lava Brook adding roughly 859 feet through the connection. Crawling is required through low ceilings, and the layout branches into a maze with three possible exits, so it is easy to lose your bearings. A helmet and at least three light sources are required. Pick up a free permit at the visitor center and tell someone your route and return time before going in.
