
Kule Loklo, meaning Bear Valley in the Coast Miwok language, is a replica Coast Miwok village reached by a 0.4-mile trail from the Bear Valley parking area. It was built to introduce visitors to thousands of years of Coast Miwok history.

Overview
Kule Loklo is a replica of a Coast Miwok village, built as an introduction to the history of the people who lived on the Point Reyes peninsula and the surrounding region for thousands of years before Europeans arrived. The village shows several traditional construction methods.
Visiting
The site is a 0.4-mile walk from the Kule Loklo Trailhead at the north end of the Bear Valley parking area, about 110 yards from the Bear Valley Visitor Center. The park offers ranger-guided tours of the village and free curriculum-based youth programming. Partner programs through the Miwok Archeological Preserve of Marin run California Indian skills classes and seasonal festivals at the site.
