Inside the cave
Balcony runs about 2,903 feet, with Boulevard adding roughly 759 feet for those who continue. Expect low-ceiling sections that require stooping, and an optional crawl up to the balcony level that gives the cave its name. Bring a helmet and at least three light sources, as the National Park Service requires for any cave here. Balcony has been among the caves closed at times for bat protection and white-nose syndrome screening, so check current status at the visitor center before going in.
