NAVAJO FLATS CAMPGROUND
Los Padres National Forest, CANavajo Flat sits at the heart of 45 miles of OHV trails, making it a straightforward choice for riders who want to roll out of their campsite and onto marked routes. The six sites are basic but functional, with vault toilets and no frills—this is a staging ground, not a destination camp.

The Camp
The setup here is utilitarian: six campsites with fire rings and picnic tables, five equipped with shade structures that'll matter during summer rides. One vault toilet serves the campground. That's it for amenities—no water, no power, no dump station. You haul everything in and pack it all out.
The terrain is rocky and hard-packed, scattered with oak, conifers, and chaparral. On clear days, you can spot both the coastline and Sierra Mountains from higher elevations like Pozo Summit. The campground includes an information kiosk with ecosystem details, Leave No Trace guidelines, and an OHV trail map.
The Riding
Forty-five miles of marked and rated trails branch out from camp, accommodating everything from ATVs and quad runners to dual sports and single-track motorcycles. There's even a beginner track within the facility boundary for kids or first-timers getting their bearings. The trail system is varied enough that most riders will find routes matching their skill level.
Beyond the motorized options, the trail network connects to non-motorized routes for hiking, fishing, hunting, and equestrian use. It's a multi-use system, so expect to share some trails.
What to Know
The campground operates year-round, which means you can ride in shoulder seasons when other areas might be closed. Being completely self-sufficient is non-negotiable—bring all the water you'll need for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. The "pack it in, pack it out" policy is strictly enforced.
Within 29 miles, you'll find hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing spots, hunting areas, and shopping if you need to resupply.
