The Camp
Eleven sites spread through fir and pine at 5,500 feet, each with the standard fire ring and picnic table setup. The trees provide decent shade during summer heat, and the campground handles both RVs and tents on standard non-electric sites. Vault toilets and a bear-proof dumpster cover the basics, but you'll need to haul in your own water.
The equestrian focus means this isn't your typical family campground β it's built for people who trailer in with livestock and need the space and facilities that come with that kind of camping.
Nearby
Bucks Lake sits a short drive away for fishing, boating, and paddling. More relevant for the riding crowd: trailheads accessing both the Bucks Lake Wilderness and Pacific Crest Trail are within easy reach of camp.
The area supports year-round use beyond the typical camping season β snowmobiling, skiing, and snowshoeing when snow covers the ground. Several commercial operations run nearby: Haskins Valley Store, Bucks Lake Resort, Lakeshore Resort, and Bucks Lake Marina provide services and supplies without having to drive back to civilization.
