The Camp

Bandido operates as five distinct group sites rather than one massive campground. Site 2 handles the big gatherings with space for 60 campers, while Sites 3 and 5 each accommodate 30. The smaller Sites 1 and 4 work for intimate groups of 12 and 18 respectively.

The equestrian focus shows in the infrastructure. Horse corrals and hitch racks are integrated into the design, though the campground welcomes any type of group. Each site includes vault toilets and picnic tables, keeping things simple but functional.

What to Know

You can book up to 12 months ahead through Recreation.gov, which matters for popular weekends and spring/fall seasons when the weather cooperates. The $24 nightly rate applies regardless of which site you reserve or how many people show up.

Cancellation policies get strict close to arrival. Cancel within 14 days and you'll forfeit the first night's fee plus a $10 service charge. No-shows lose everything and get hit with an additional $20 fee.

The campground operates primarily during spring and fall seasons when temperatures in the Angeles National Forest stay reasonable. Summer heat can make the area less pleasant for large groups spending extended time outdoors.
