Creek Pasture Campground – Indian Creek Area, Utah
Creek Pasture Campground is a spacious, primitive camping area situated in the scenic Indian Creek area of southeastern Utah. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), it features 32 campsites and one reservable group site, making it an excellent base for exploring Canyonlands National Park’s Needles District and Bears Ears National Monument. This first-come, first-served campground offers basic amenities for a rugged and serene outdoor experience.

How to Get to Creek Pasture Campground
From U.S. Highway 191, turn west onto Highway 211 and travel approximately 21 miles. The turnoff to Creek Pasture Campground is on the north side of the highway. The campground is located about 5 miles southeast of Canyonlands National Park’s Needles District entrance and 15 miles northwest of Newspaper Rock.

Creek Pasture Campground provides a quiet and picturesque setting for groups and individual campers exploring the Indian Creek area. The 32 campsites are arranged in a single loop, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and space for a tent or trailer. Campsites can accommodate up to 10 people and two vehicles, and a large group site is available by reservation.
The campground is primitive, with no potable water or electricity. Visitors must bring their water and pack out all trash. Vault toilets are available on-site. The lack of light pollution in this remote area offers incredible stargazing opportunities.
Nestled amid dramatic red rock formations and sagebrush-covered mesas, the campground is ideal for hikers, climbers, and adventurers seeking proximity to iconic landmarks. Canyonlands National Park and Bears Ears National Monument are just minutes away, and Newspaper Rock, a petroglyph site with centuries-old Native American rock art, is within easy reach.
